In addition to skill, a love for what we do and vision, Nolet Distillery is also highly aware of issues of corporate responsibility. Our concerns are not just for the quality and flavour of our spirits, but also for the part we can and do play in society at large.
We think about sustainability in all of our commercial processes and we take concrete and often innovative steps to spare the environment. For instance, we carefully separate our waste streams and we are smart about saving energy. Our finest example is the newly built ‘De Nolet’ tower mill. Modelled on an authentic windmill, it enhances the surrounding area, while advanced generators are hard at work inside it, creating green energy.
Nolet Distillery regards the responsible use of alcohol as being extremely important. We meticulously observe all of the appropriate rules in our promotional activities. We are also an active member of the Foundation for Responsible Alcohol Use (Stichting Verantwoord Alcoholgebruik (STIVA)), which promotes responsible alcohol use, combats alcohol abuse and strives for socially responsible communication by manufacturers through the Alcoholic Beverages Advertising Code.
Because the home of Nolet family Distillery has been in Schiedam for 325 years, we have deliberately adopted a policy of supporting and even developing predominantly local initiatives. As well as our support for local associations and facilities, this can be seen in the KetelFactory, a project space for visual artists. We have also been awarding university study scholarships throughout the world since 1995, via our Study Fund Foundation – Stichting Studiefonds KETEL1.
