The Ketelfactory

A different way to look at art

The Ketelfactory does not hold its own collection, it’s not an exhibition space and it’s not a museum. But there’s a lot going for it: a dynamic, unique project space where artists can get to grips with their skills, with each other and with the public.

Something very special happened when Carel Nolet asked his niece, glass artist Winnie Teschmacher, to find a new cultural purpose for an old dairy within the complex. In 2009, Winnie was given a free hand to realise a big dream in a little space: a unique sanctuary for displaying the skills of visual artists.

Precisely because Nolet family Distillery cherishes skill so much, and keeps finding new ways of expressing it, we were delighted to be able – quite literally – to give artistic skill the space it needed, so that the artists could display their work, meet people and offer a depth of experience in a novel manner. The Ketelfactory has now become a dynamic project space, with surprises in store on every visit.
